City Home Helpers provides a range of local services for domestic, social and companionship support so anyone including older adults, people living with disability or anyone living with a long term physical or mental condition, can continue living in their own home and remain connected to their community for longer.

We deliver services across Aberdeen City and beyond, within the customer home including sheltered or very sheltered housing, retirement villages or within the general housing community and services are also frequently delivered out with the customer home.

City Home Helpers offers flexible services for either a short or longer term. These services could include, but are not limited to:

The services we provide offer support at an early intervention stage to enable independence. We offer services which include, but are not limited to:

• Shopping including taking customers to, going for, or assisting with online shopping to support customer choice.
• Domestic support such as general housework, laundry and ironing.
• Companionship support including social outings, accompaniment to appointments and activities and giving our customers or their loved one’s valuable time to spend together doing the things they love.
• Meal preparation which includes assisting with the preparation of fresh home cooked meals.

Our friendly Home Helpers have all the expertise needed to deliver a quality service including a high standard of training, increasing knowledge of adult support and protection, health and safety and dementia awareness. They also have knowledge of resources available within the community so that they can signpost to other organisations able to provide support.

All staff undergo rigorous pre-employment checks including full ‘Protection of Vulnerable People’ (PVG) screening, giving our customers and their loved one’s peace of mind about our staff and the services we deliver.

Our customers individual needs and goals are our main focus and we change our services to meet those needs whenever required and through regular service reviews. We do this by listening to get to know our customers, their needs and their lifestyle choices; responding by reviewing their changing needs and ensuring our customers get the help they need when they need it; and by delivering a service which is suited to each individual customer.

Services can be delivered 7 days per week from early morning until evening on a one off, short term or ongoing basis depending on individual needs. Referrals can be made by individuals themselves, family or carers, health professionals and health and social care staff, or anyone who knows someone who could benefit from our services.

Services are charged at a flat rate of £21 per hour.
