Community Meal Service
by Bon Accord Care Claimed
The Community Meal Service is part of an overall strategy to help older or housebound people continue to live in the community in their own homes.
Tasty, nutritious meals are delivered straight to your door and provide older people, and those who are housebound or have a disability, with a well balanced meal as often as required and at a reasonable cost.
Each meal consists of two courses, either soup and a main course or a main course and pudding. There are over 60 choices on the menu and special diets can be catered for e.g. diabetic, vegetarian, halal, kosher.
The meals are delivered to your door FREE by Wiltshire Farm Foods every two weeks. If you do not have a freezer to store the meals or a steam heater/microwave in which to cook them, these will be provided on loan and free of charge.
Referrals to the service can be made in person, by doctors, health visitors, district nurses, social workers, carers, relatives or friends. A social work or health care professional will then assess your needs.
Want nutritious meals, which are varied and simple to prepare then please give us a call.
Bon Accord Care is wholly owned by Aberdeen City Council and provides social care services on their behalf.
