Young People's Counselling Service

This is a Claimed service
Delivered by: Action for ME This is a Claimed organisation
Last updated: 25/07/2025

Our Young People's Counselling service is available for young people, aged 11 - 18, with either suspected or diagnosed ME. We know that living with ME, and the lack of understanding of the condition, can make you feel isolated and frustrated.

Our counsellors understand ME and the impact it can have on young people's lives. Counselling is a safe space, based on trust with your counsellor, to talk about you, your feelings, your life, your situation, and your goals.

It’s an opportunity to talk to someone outside your family or friends, where you decide what you want to talk about. Your counsellor will provide you with the support you need to nurture your wellbeing and empower you to manage your feelings.

Your conversations with our counsellors are confidential. This means when you tell them something, they shouldn't tell anyone else. However, there are a few exceptions when we may have to break confidentiality in order to keep you safe.
