Your Chance to Change is a service for men who are engaging in abusive behaviour towards their female (ex)partners but who want to make positive changes in terms of their behaviour. It supports men on a voluntary basis to undertake the Caledonian Men’s Domestic Abuse Perpetrator programme. Using a combination of individual support and group work, the service works towards improving the lives of women, children and the men themselves. The programme is designed to help men understand the links between their thoughts, feelings and abusive behaviour, and to invite and challenge them to rethink the attitudes and beliefs which have underpinned their actions.

Programme activities are based on a comprehensive review of the evidence on risk and effectiveness. The programme takes up to two years.

The Caledonian approach adopts an integrated whole family approach to address domestic abuse and as such offers separate support to the man’s (ex) partner and any children.
