Volunteer Midlothian is the local Volunteer Centre for Midlothian. The project aims to link the skills, experience and enthusiasm of local people who wish to volunteer with organisations who involve volunteers in their work.
Service Description
For Volunteers –
• free advice and guidance on how to volunteer and where to volunteer
• access to a database of volunteering opportunities
• training to increase skills and confidence
• recognition for volunteering achievement and commitment at our annual Awards Ceremony
• additional support and guidance for volunteers with individual needs
• specialist advice and training for young people including access to the MV Awards scheme and supported volunteering opportunities
• specialist advice for those who want to use volunteering as a positive step to paid employment
For Organisations –
• support and advice to help develop, increase and promote volunteering opportunities
• advice, information and training on volunteer management and recruitment
• promotion of volunteering opportunities, through our directory; website and national database
• regular updates and access to low-cost or free training
