Glenrothes Ramblers group
by Ramblers Scotland - Glenrothes Ramblers Claimed
Our groups help local people enjoy walking and protect the places we all love to walk. Most groups organise regular walks led by local experts – a great way to get outside, make new friends and discover how walking boosts your health and happiness. You’re very welcome to try walking with us, or to get involved in looking after paths and green spaces and opening up new places to explore.
Based in central Fife, the club draws its membership from the most northerly new town, Glenrothes and likes to be known as "the friendly club". Formed in 1992, the membership has increased steadily to around 120. Over the year there is a walk alternate Saturdays and Sundays with a turn out of 12 to 30 people. There are also shorter, easier walks every Thursday morning. The walk programme is varied with a mix of short to medium length walks (mainly grades C and B). The club members also participate in a weekend break which is usually in August when about 40 members spend a pleasant weekend walking and socialising. So come and join us and enjoy a day out in the countryside with the Glenrothes Ramblers.
