Helpline

Delivered by: Retina UK
Last updated: 10/11/2025

We are here for you whether you have a question about your condition, looking for ways to cope with daily living situations, seeking information about benefits, employment, education, etc. We will try to answer your question or signpost you to a relevant organisation that can. Maybe you just want to speak to someone who genuinely understands. The helpline gives the opportunity to discuss concerns with a trained volunteer who either lives with, or has a close family member with, inherited sight loss.

The Telephone Helpline is open Mon-Fri from 9am to 5pm, and from 5pm to 8pm on Tue and Thu. You can also email the Helpline at any time. We aim to respond to all emails within 48 hours.

The Helpline cannot provide medical diagnoses or counselling, and any information given is only guidance. You should speak to your GP or consultant for any medical queries.

Please note: this is NOT a crisis line, if you are in crisis please contact Samaritans on 116 123 who are available 24/7.
