King's Park Green Gym

by The Conservation Volunteers (TCV) Scotland Claimed

A weekly outdoors nature conservation session which focuses on inclusion of adults with disabilities. The main focus of the sessions are to carry out short environmental tasks and engage with nature in order to increase volunteers' connection to their local greenspaces in King's Park, Stirling. This enables us to provide a pathway to improving health, wellbeing and an opportunity to develop an individual's set of skills and knowledge.

Working in tandem with Enable - an organisation who provides one-to-one support workers for volunteers they refer - this Green Gym encourages involvement of other adults with disabilities living within the community. In addition, maintenance work is carried out alongside Friends of Kings Park, including the following:

- Weeding of the Peace of Mind Garden
- Cutting back overgrown vegetation
- Clearing scrub from wildflower areas

Booking is essential. Please get in contact with Senior Project Officer using the contact provided.
