Lothian Trans Support Programme

by LGBT Health & Wellbeing Claimed

LGBT Health

We offer support to trans, including non-binary communities in Edinburgh and the Lothians. We welcome trans female/feminine, trans male/masculine, genderqueer, non-binary identities as well as intersex people, people who cross dress and those who are exploring their gender identity. Anyone who lives in and outwith Edinburgh can access our trans support programme, although all services are delivered in Edinburgh.

- Individual support

You can access one to one support to find out about gender or transition related information. If you would like to discuss your needs and find out about support available then you can arrange a face to face appointment, chat to us on the phone, or get advice and information via email.
Contact: TransSupportLothian@lgbthealth.org.uk or call 0131 523 1100

- Social events

We deliver a monthly social group in Edinburgh, called T time. T time is an informal drop-in welcome to transgender, including non-binary, intersex people, those questioning their gender identity, and supporters. A great opportunity to meet new people, pick up information and chat over a cuppa in a safe, easy going and relaxed environment. Each month, we also deliver one-off optional activities for a wide range of interests.

T time Edinburgh
Every 3rd Saturday of the month | 1-4pm
At LGBT Health & Wellbeing, 9 Howe Street, EH3 6TE
Contact: jules@lgbthealth.org.uk or call 0131 523 1104

- Confidence workshops

We deliver quarterly workshops giving trans, including non-binary people the opportunity to build their confidence in different ways through a range of activities. Previous sessions have included a ‘Trans Swap and Shop’, a ‘Moving Forwards with Confidence’ and a ‘Sex, Relationships & Intimacy’ workshop. Contact: jules@lgbthealth.org.uk or call 0131 523 1104

- Transition support courses

Two-day weekend course delivered annually in Edinburgh, for anyone looking to explore their transition options in an open and safe, non-judgmental space. Facilitated by staff from the Transgender Support Programmes with support from our Mental Health team. Course takes place in Edinburgh but is open to anyone, wherever you are based.

The course will provide safe and supportive opportunities to meet and connect with other trans or non-binary people, share your experiences, take part in confidence building workshops and learn more about your options and rights (a session with Scottish Trans Alliance is included).

We recognise that everyone’s journey is different – the course is not designed to tell you how to transition, but rather to give you space and time to think about your identity, how to keep yourself well and to equip you with information about your options.

If you would like further information, please contact: jules@lgbthealth.org.uk or call 0131 523 1104

- Newsletter

T Monthly is a monthly newsletter with news, events and support opportunities for trans, including non-binary people across Scotland. There’s a fantastic range of other options for support available throughout Scotland and news items to keep you up to date, so we are delighted to advertise these.
