Navigate

Delivered by: Citizens Theatre
Last updated: 07/01/2026

The Citizens Theatre is an iconic venue and theatre company in the Gorbals area of Glasgow. We create ground-breaking theatre productions and empowering participatory projects, and we are passionate about engaging people and communities across Glasgow and beyond.

Our Navigate project aims to create meaningful and long-term opportunities for communities often marginalised from cultural and civic life. It will deepen our partnerships with third sector and charity organisations that share our values, reinforcing our building as a meaningful home to our communities and ensuring people feel safe and respected.

There are two core parts to the project:

  • Navigate: In Residence - Creating long term cultural opportunities for Global Majority community groups, particularly those adversely impacted by the UK’s asylum and immigration policies
  • Navigate: Come Away In - Providing an artistic home for community arts groups who are disproportionately impacted by inequality and inequity
