Social Work and Rehabilitation Support for Sensory Impairment

This is a Claimed service
Delivered by: North East Sensory Services This is a Claimed organisation
Last updated: 02/12/2025

NESS social workers will meet you to give you personalised advice, information and practical support to help you to develop the skills you need to live with your sensory impairment. We will explore with you what you are finding difficult and help you to identify ways that you can do all of the things you want to do with your sight and/or hearing loss, while helping you to make sense of your experiences. We can provide advice on welfare benefits and help you to navigate your way around the the benefits system. We can also help you to identify and organise any other support you may need.

Our Vision Rehabilitation Specialists can support you to get out and about independently and to cope with day-to-day tasks that have become more difficult because of your visual impairment. They can also provide information, advice and training to use daily living aids.
