Together with teams of volunteers and in partnership with other third-sector organisations, we gather surplus foods from supermarkets, local greengrocers and bakers, farm shops & fruit/vegetable growers, cooperatives, allotments, and gardens of the general public. This rescued food is brought to our centre, the Roundhouse, where, within our commercial kitchen, it is repurposed into nutritious meals, frozen, and distributed to those in need across the city through a network of food banks and larders. In summer 2025 we will open a community fridge outside of our centre, the Roundhouse, making these meals along with other surplus foods available to all.

The second strand of our local activities works with community members, meal recipients, school pupils, and young people to build their confidence, skills, and understanding of growing, preserving, and cooking fresh and nutritious foods.
