U-Turn Peer Education
This is a Claimed service
The U-Turn Peer Education Service is designed to support individuals to become involved in their community, working with those who are affected by alcohol and other drugs through their own experiences or those of family or friends.
The Peer Education service works with young people 12 – 25 years old to become volunteer Peer Educators within their own communities. All young people will receive 1-2-1 support from one of our workers and participate in group work activity sessions which will aim to increase the participants confidence and resilience, whilst developing leadership skills.
With appropriate training and support, Peer Educators are encouraged to develop and deliver workshops and information campaigns that will enhance their own knowledge but also the knowledge of people who share similar backgrounds or life experiences. The Peer Educators will design, develop, and deliver harm reduction inputs on substance use tackling stigma and early intervention on problematic use.
