Improving your literacy and numeracy skills will increase your confidence and independence. These skills can help when paying bills, saving money, checking payslips, cooking, and helping with schoolwork. Learning is confidential and free and adults work on their own personal learning plan developed with their tutor in the community or online.


We can help you improve:

  • reading, writing, grammar or spelling
  • prepare for college, driving theory or workplace entrance tests and training courses
  • improve basic numeracy, decimals, weights and measurement
  • check calculations - bills, benefits/pension/wages, rents and mortgage, bank statements
  • solve numeracy problems at work or while volunteering, learn maths for entrance tests
  • find out about dyslexia and better manage dyslexia at work or in everyday life


You can work towards an SQA qualification in Communications, Numeracy and/or Adult Achievement award as part of this.
