Wallacewell Day Care Centre

Wallacewell Day Care Centre in Balornock, North Glasgow, provides support to vulnerable older people who live in the community. The dementia friendly day care centre provides a high quality environment built around the individual needs of the people who use it.

The building itself is all on one level and was created to ensure that older people feel safe and that they enjoy a sense of community.

The centre can accommodate up to 30 people each day. Within the centre we have a number of areas where people can relax and socialise including:

• dining room
• activity rooms including space for dementia-friendly activities
• treatment room
• landscaped secure garden areas with raised beds for gardening
• hairdressing salon
• quiet rooms

Centre is open Monday to Friday, 9am to 4:30pm and offers a range of services:

• hairdressers
• outings
• health professional surgeries e.g. district nurses, optician, podiatrist
• gentle exercise classes
• reminiscence
• quizzes
• bingo
• dominoes
• arts and crafts
• current affairs
• social events
