Young Carers Scholarship

Last updated: 18/12/2025

At Carers Trust Scotland, we design and deliver programmes that make a real difference to the lives of unpaid carers of all ages and backgrounds. Working closely with our local carer organisations, our programmes provide practical support, opportunities for connection, and resources to help carers thrive - from enhancing wellbeing to increasing access to education, employment and community life.

Our Young Carers Scholarship, in partnership with The Education Academy Scotland and funded by The Rangers Charity Foundation is the first fully funded scholarship of its kind in Scotland, created to help young carers in their senior phase of secondary school thrive in their National 5 and Higher studies. The scholarship offers:

  • Tailored tuition and study support
  • Wellbeing and peer connections
  • Access to role models and mentoring opportunities

Applications are now open for young carers connected with a local carers centre.
