[00:04]

Welcome to the ALISS guidance videos.

[00:08]

In this video, we will explain how to add to ALISS.

[00:13]

To start adding, you will need to log in to your account.

[00:16]

Type in your username and your password,

[00:20]

and click “Login”.

[00:26]

Now that you are logged in,

[00:27]

click on the “Add to ALISS” button at the top of the page.

[00:33]

Firstly, check if the organisation that you're adding

[00:36]

is not already on here.

[00:45]

If it is not, click on “Add to ALISS”.

[00:49]

This will then take you to the start of the form.

[00:55]

Before you start the form,

[00:57]

we recommend that you have the following

[00:59]

information to hand, if it applies to your service.

[01:03]

These are:

[01:04]

web address,

[01:06]

phone number,

[01:08]

email address,

[01:10]

social media links,

[01:12]

location address,

[01:14]

and service images or videos.

[01:19]

When you are ready, click on “Start the form”.

[01:25]

Step one is: the organisation's details.

[01:30]

Please add the organisation’s information into the fields.

[01:38]

If this is your own organisation, you can claim it on this page.

[01:45]

The description should be clear and simple.

[01:48]

The goal is to provide an informative snapshot

[01:52]

that captures the heart of your organisation.

[01:56]

Lastly, you will need to fill in the organisation's contact details.

[02:00]

You must provide at least one form of contact information.

[02:12]

Step two is: the details of the service.

[02:15]

Please add in the relevant service information.

[02:21]

If this is your own service, you can claim the service on this page

[02:25]

without having to claim the entire organisation.

[02:30]

The service summary should provide a brief overview

[02:33]

of what the service offers.

[02:36]

You can then add more details of the service

[02:39]

in the service description.

[02:41]

A well written summary

[02:42]

and description can help people better understand

[02:45]

what a service is about.

[02:48]

In case the contact details of the service

[02:51]

are different to the organisation’s,

[02:56]

you can fill them in here.

[03:00]

Step three is: where.

[03:02]

Please add the service address or location.

[03:06]

You can add in multiple locations if required.

[03:10]

You will firstly be asked if your service is accessed in person,

[03:14]

online, or both.

[03:17]

If you select virtual,

[03:19]

you will be asked select a region.

[03:22]

If your service is accessed in person,

[03:25]

you will be asked to provide an address.

[03:31]

Step four: categories.

[03:33]

Please select the categories that are relevant

[03:36]

to the service or resource.

[03:39]

We recommend that you use level two

[03:41]

and three categories by clicking the “Show more” button

[03:45]

to help people find results that are more accurate to them.

[03:57]

Step five is: who, which is optional.

[04:02]

Please select the group or community

[04:04]

that the service or resource is aimed at.

[04:08]

We, again, recommend that you use level two

[04:11]

and three categories by clicking the “Show more” button

[04:14]

to help people find results that are more accurate to them.

[04:18]

Please note that if your service is aimed at everyone,

[04:22]

then you do not need to select any specific groups.

[04:26]

Step six is: accessibility,

[04:29]

which is also optional.

[04:32]

This step allows you to provide

[04:34]

information about any features that might support people

[04:37]

while accessing your service.

[04:41]

The options are different for virtual services,

[04:43]

and in person services.

[04:47]

Step seven is: media,

[04:49]

which, again, is optional.

[04:51]

This step allows you to add logos, images,

[04:55]

and video links to your service listing.

[04:58]

Click on “Choose file” and select the document

[05:02]

that you would like to upload to ALISS.

[05:05]

Please note that each media item will be reviewed

[05:08]

by the ALISS team before it is published.

[05:17]

If you would like to upload an image,

[05:19]

you will be asked to provide a gallery image caption

[05:22]

and alt text.

[05:25]

Use around three to six words to caption the image.

[05:29]

An alt text is a bit longer

[05:31]

and provides a basic idea of what the image is about.

[05:37]

Step eight is: the summary.

[05:39]

Once you have completed all the steps,

[05:42]

you will be taken to the summary page of your listing.

[05:46]

Here, you can check the information that you have provided

[05:50]

and make changes, if necessary,

[05:53]

by clicking on “Edit information”.

[05:56]

Once you're happy with your contribution,

[05:59]

click on “Submit for review”.

[06:06]

Your submission will be reviewed by the ALISS team,

[06:08]

and will be published once approved.
