Shakti Women’s Aid was a charity established in 1985 to support all Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) Women (over 16 years of age) and their children (if any).
Shakti helps BME women, their children and young people, experiencing and / or fleeing domestic abuse from a partner, ex-partner, and/ or other members of the household.
We are based in Edinburgh. We also have outreach staff in Tayside, Falkirk, Fife and the Lothians. We can offer limited support to BME women, and their advisers, all over Scotland by phone and email.
