East Ayrshire Health Visiting Service
The East Ayrshire Health Visiting Team are available to all infants and their families from the antenatal period until children commence school. We work in partnership with parents and carers to support, assess, promote and protect the health & well-being of infants and their families. We are all trained nurse and/or midwives with additional knowledge in child development supporting families during the transition to parenthood into the early years. We cover health topics such as support after the birth, child development, assistance with parenting, childhood immunisations, infant feeding, weaning, dental care, safety & minor ailments and safeguarding . All families have a named HV who meets with parents/carers in the antenatal period & transfer of care following discharge from midwifery services on day 10 post birth and will have regular ongoing contact at home until a child goes to school as per the Universal Health Visiting Pathway.
