Community Benefit Society was created to provide renewable energy, with community benefits.

Aberdeen Community Energy built the hydro scheme in 2016. It is run entirely by volunteers. We provide regular tours and seminars for schools, universities, local groups and anyone wanting to learn about our scheme.

Volunteering opportunities are available regularly, from day-to-day maintenance (including screen cleaning, and log clearing) and hydro site management to tree planting, litter picking, and any other tasks required to improve and enhance the riverside location.
