Barnardo’s Aberdeen Young Carers Service supports Young Carers that reside in Aberdeen City. A Young Carer is someone up to the age of 18 who provides unpaid help and supports a relative, friend, or neighbour who due to illness or disability cannot manage to live independently without a carer’s help.

Barnardo’s Aberdeen Young Carers Service aims to support young carers in their caring role to live a happy and fulfilled life alongside caring.

Types of support a young carer may provide:

• Emotional support

• Practical care

• Physical care

• Sibling care

Our range of interventions will include:

• 1:1 support

• Group work

• Signposting/Linking

• Family Work

• Respite

• Activities
