Barnardo’s Aberdeen Young Carers Service supports Young Carers that reside in Aberdeen City. A Young Carer is someone up to the age of 18 who provides unpaid help and supports a relative, friend, or neighbour who due to illness or disability cannot manage to live independently without carer’s help.

Barnardo’s Aberdeen Young Carers Service aims to support young carers in their caring role so they are able to live a happy and fulfilled life alongside caring.

Types of support a young carer may provide:

• Emotional support

• Practical care

• Physical care

• Sibling care

Our range of interventions will include:

• 1:1 support

• Group work

• Signposting/Linking

• Family Work

• Respite

• Activities
