Home-Start Aberdeen
Home-Start Aberdeen aims to prevent family crisis and breakdown in vulnerable, struggling families with young children.
We provide carefully selected and trained volunteers who visit and support families in their own homes. By providing emotional and practical support we aim to leave families with the tools to move forward and better manage their own unique situation.
Our service is city wide. We receive referrals from health and social care agencies and welcome self-referrals.
Additionally, we run three complementary projects:
Recipe for Life - providing families with practical cooking skills and food budgeting advice.
Rising Stars - a weekly group for parents and children who may be at particular risk of isolation.
Big Hopes Big Future - helping parents give their children the support they need before starting school.
