Custody Navigators Service

This is a Claimed service
Delivered by: Sacro This is a Claimed organisation
Last updated: 15/09/2025

Our Navigators work directly within the custody centres in local police stations. We believe the time spent in police custody after an incident, where people are often angry, sore, scared and may be considering lifestyle changes, is when they may be open to receiving support from Navigators.    Purpose - To deliver practical, bespoke interventions to people attending custody suites to encourage positive lifestyle choices and changes. Aim - To reduce the number of people entering and re-entering police custody by offering support and interventions to reduce offending behaviour and promote positive choices. Method -By initially meeting with individuals while they are in police custody, considering the individual needs of the person and the community in which they reside and tailoring a range of interventions to suit the individual and in collaboration with a range of partner organisations and voluntary groups.
