CHAP is an Ayrshire charity providing free, confidential support to people experiencing housing, welfare and debt issues.

We have three core services:

1. CHAP Housing provides help and advice to homeowners and tenants experiencing issues, including those facing homelessness.

2. CHAP Welfare helps guide people to available support channels and works with them through the process.

3. CHAP Money helps people resolve financial challenges and reduce the stress and additional challenges these can bring.

We also provide an education service:

  • Early intervention and prevention delivered in secondary schools around homelessness prevention and financial education.
  • ​Multiply: helping people with financial literacy, budgeting etc.


CHAP has been delivering services in Ayrshire for over 20 years and is fully accredited up to Type 3 with the Scottish National Standards for Information and Advice Providers (SNSIAP) and authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).
