Walk In The Park - Strength and Balance

This is a Claimed service
Delivered by: Walk In The Park This is a Claimed organisation
Last reviewed: 06/12/2021

As well as our health walks, Walk In The Park delivers Strength and Balance sessions in a number of our locations. These sessions either compliment our health walks or are an opportunity for those who may not yet feel confident to join the walks.

The Paths For All Strength and Balance programme was developed with expert input from Professor Dawn Skelton of Glasgow Caledonian University. It consists of 14 simple exercises that will improve strength and balance and reduce the risk of falls in adults with advice on walking to help adults stay active and independent. Strength and Balance is a great way to stay active, keep up your social connections and to meet the UK Chief Medical Officer's Physical Activity Guidelines which recommend that adults should incorporate activity to improve muscle strength, balance and coordination twice each week.

Currently Strength and Balance sessions are running in:
- Callander: Tuesdays @ McLaren Community Leisure Centre 2PM-3PM
- Killin: Wednesdays @ Killin and Ardeonaig Parish Church 3PM-4PM

Regions:
  • Forth Valley
  • Stirling
