Social Security Scotland is an executive agency of the Scottish Government. We help the people of Scotland by delivering a range of social security payments.
One of the benefits we deliver is the Child Disability Payment which helps with the extra costs a disabled child might have. Child Disability Payment is tax-free and made up of a care component and a mobility component. A child's care and mobility needs can include physical or non-physical difficulties such as:
- emotional
- behavioural
- mental
- developmental
- learning
Children 3 months old or older can get the care component (if a child has a terminal illness they will get the care component from birth), and children aged 3 years or older can qualify for the mobility component.
To find out more, or apply for any of our benefits, you can phone one of our advisors. For other contact options and support, please see our website.
