New Scots Women’s Sewing Group

Last updated: 09/01/2026

Cranhill Development Trust provide opportunities to socialise, reducing loneliness and building meaningful connections. We support improved mental and physical wellbeing through creative, educational, and active pursuits tailored to different interests and needs. People can develop new skills, increase confidence, and gain a sense of purpose. We offer inclusive, welcoming spaces where everyone is encouraged to participate and feel valued. In turn, this strengthens community ties, promotes lifelong learning, and helps create a more resilient, healthier, and connected Cranhill.

Our New Scots Social Sewing Project is a welcoming space where women who are new to this country can learn new skills, build friendships, and feel part of a supportive community.

Led by our amazing volunteer fashion designer, the group meets weekly to work on creative sewing projects.
